"Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit" - Joseph Pilatess

WHY PILATES...
Pilates transforms the way your body feels while improving flexibility, agility, balance and strength. For decades professional dancers and elite athletes have trusted pilates to prevent injury and strengthen without losing flexibilty.
Pilates is important for athletes because mobility is essential in successful training programs especially in sports with repetitive motions. You will notice improvement in your coordination, core strength and recovery.
Equally important, pilates is an excellent partner in rehabilitation after an injury or with an existing condition. With your doctor's permission, we have seen great improvments in clients with back pain, disk disfunction, knee injuries, hip replacements, ankle instability, neck issues, scoliosis, kyphosis, SI Joint dysfunction, osteoarthritis, osteoperosis, and MS. Each of these clients are all succcessfully able to work one on one with a program tailored to their specific needs.
As we age we need strategies to keep us moving safely - combining flexibility with balance work and strength in an environment where you can focus on you.

testimonials
Cheryl has been an incredible pilates instructor. I've worked with her 1:1 three times a week and in that time I've seen and felt incredible changes in my body. I'm stronger, taller, and my pain has all but disappeared. Cheryl has tracked my progress, helping me see my improvements over time and even provided me with excercises to do while I was away on vacation. Cheryl is a fantastic pilates intsructor and I look forward to each of our sessions!
Julie
Pilates has helped me with core stabilization, strength, flexibility, and balance and has made me conscious of proper alignment to my everyday activities. As with any practice, the right instructor matters. Cheryl is an exceptional instructor. She was a dancer, a dance instructor, and is the most amazing Pilates instructor I could have imagined. I commit to two times a week, sometimes three. Unquestionably, the work I do with Cheryl keeps my body healthy and strong for my other activities.

A pilates session with Cheryl is the gentlest, most non-judgemental workout you could ever hope to have. Cheryl has taught me to see my body as a single unit with amazing connectivity between it's parts. Her background in dance (her first love) gives her a knowledge and philosophy of movement that is far more expansive than one trained only in pilates. Working with Cheryl will not only make you stronger and more flexible it will also lift your spirits and leave you with a great sense of calm. If you are searching for a great pilates instructor, once you've worked with Cheryl, your search will be over.
